I’m Not The “Original” Xanga Soulfire
Observant readers will note that I spell my username “Soullfire”, with two L’s instead of one. There’s a simple reason for that- when I was setting up my username I tried the spelling with one “L” and was notified that it wasn’t available, so I had to be a little creative.
I eventually found the other “Soulfire’s” site, but it was abandoned over three years before I came on the scene and signed up.
The “1 L” @Soulfire is a “she” and curiously enough, posted political, government, business, and office rants that were somewhat similar to my own regarding some of those topics. Her language was a bit more, um, raw than mine at times, haha. Still, a casual reader could easily confuse us were it not for the lack of updates of that site.
There have been a few occasions where someone looking for my site landed on her site instead, then told me about it later. I’m pretty sure early member Xangan’s looking for her landed on my site instead.
She had some interesting things to say – it’s a shame her blog, like so many others, went inactive.
This is why Xanga’s current plan of eliminating all non premium blogs and leaving folks with just an empty site is a TERRIBLE idea in my opinion. It’s fun browsing older non active sites to see what others were thinking during the time. Why eliminate all those quality blogs and memories of past users when they serve to attract new readers?
Oh, there was also yet another Soulfire, “XxSoulFirexX”, but that one is on friends-lock. Since “Friends Lock” didn’t exist back in “Soulfire’s” time, this xXSoulFireXx must be a newer incarnation.

Soulfire, I want to let you (and the world) know that =YOU= stalked me more than any other user that was ever in Xanga.
And I liked it !
I’m hoping you don’t stop now. Do you have any ideas of where you’ll be going in the absence of Xanga, because you’re certainly welcome to join me where I’m at.
haha that guy called you out for stalking. who in the world are you sir?
@dw817 - Very funny.
Too busy stalking the next market stock trade! I’ll be posting my new locale once I make up my mind.
@petitetokio - Madam Tokio, he was being funny. You PT are MY number one stalker! Jealous? See how that works? =) Who am I? I’m Soullfire from SD, and unlike “Mr Jersey”, operate on a higher set of self control and morals, haha.
I’m not as mysterious as you make me out to be.
@petitetokio - In this instance and =ONLY= in this instance, do I mean it with deepest respect. I have no problem about someone looking over my writing and stuff, and Soulfire did it early and often.
I’m being serious no joking here, thanks, SF … I’ve had days where no-one visited and then you did – and it let me know – hey – my writing is good, I need to keep at it.
So, really, no joking here, thanks – you made me feel worthwhile and I deeply appreciate that. *Gentle Smile*
Maybe stalking isn’t the right word, “being interested in my stuff a lot.”
I hope to have you visit again no matter where you decide to go in any case. [Link]
@dw817 - To be honest, it wasn’t your writing that got my attention ( although I’m sure it’s good) as much as it was the technical information you would post from time to time on getting Xanga configured to desirable specs. =)
@SoullFire - I’ve – really wanted to know why you visited so much. Thank you. Should Xanga² be borne I will most definitely consider you and work towards writing further good useful tutorials and stuff.
Since you like technical, I just wrote a bit of an article today on tips & tricks with HTML where I’m at now [HERE].
You can prolly use the HTML coding for any website tho, including here.
who’s mr. jersey,,,? lol
@rxglasshalffull - You have to read the post from @petitetokio on “_____ from Jersey”, who was on the prowl. =)
@dw817 - Thanks!
@SoullFire - Sir SoullFire, you are barely top five in the list of many xangans i stalk on a regular basis
And yes, you do operate on higher moral standards but it isn’t *that* difficult considering how scummy he was.
Hmm soulfire and soullfire. sounds like a good match!
@petitetokio - Well, at least I made it to the upper percentages…hard to do in such a competitive field.
And his poor behavior gave you all the more reason to clip his wings.
@Kittyluve - Funny you should say that – and it jogged my memory – Based on comments between her and friends, her bf was XxSoulfirexX! So I would have been the 3rd wheel.
@SoullFire - petitetokio has a friend lock. im from jersey so i was curious!!
@rxglasshalffull - It was some philandering dude on the hunt using “I’m from Jersey!” as a pick up line.
@SoullFire - woohoooo jersey pride!!! not…i have more California pride…its bad lol
@rxglasshalffull - oh srsly? my bad. i called people out for being on friends lock and i’m on myself. hahahaha
@rxglasshalffull - actually i just checked. i’m only on xanga lock not friends lock.
@petitetokio - haha yeah! i think i clicked on your username before and maybe you were on friends lock back then? haha
never thought of it that way. time to creepily stalk inactive sites.
@consignedhearts111 - When they’re abandoned, it’s not stalking- you’re a Scooby-Doo Gang adventurer/explorer! Haha! Or if you prefer, a historian.
I’ve never actually looked for “someone who has a similar name as me”. i dunno how i would stumble upon that. that being said, i don’t think Xanga is shutting down. there are tons of sites that ppl abandon & they still thrive.
That is actually very interesting. I wonder if there are any other firetygers out there…
I agree that I think it is a bad idea for Xanga to get rid of all non-Premium blogs
@scorpio_81 - You must have missed the notice: http://thexangateam.xanga.com/773587240/relaunching-xanga-a-fundraiser/
They are scheduled to close in July if they don’t reach $60K in a pledge drive.
@SoullFire - I don’t know the details. you can only have Xanga if you pay? I highly doubt it. but we’ll see. nobody even uses myspace anymore. they don’t close down.
@scorpio_81 - “you can only have Xanga if you pay? I highly doubt it.”
That’s exactly what they stated in their fundraiser message. The new site will be pay only in that you will still be able to comment and keep your sub lists, but you will no longer be able to blog.
“nobody even uses myspace anymore. they don’t close down.”
Myspace is owned by a large company that supports it. Xanga has stated that if they don’t make the pledge drive amount they will be shutting down on July 15. You should read their message. They are letting everyone archive their stuff for free though during this time.
